Here's my planned schedule:
Alpha Testing - Now until March 31
While the site is in Alpha testing, anything goes. Post any item you want. Bid on anything you want. None of the bids or postings count. My goal is simply to work out as many kinks as possible before actual money gets involved. I hope to have the remainder of the HTML fleshed out before moving out of Alpha.
Beta Testing - April 1 until April 30
Once I move the site into Beta testing, everything will be for real. I will clear all of the items up for bid when I do. Beta testing will mean that the site is up and running, but I'm not making any guarantees about how stable it will be. The major feature I will add during Beta testing will be a comprehensive and easy help system. I plan to have each page provide its own set of help information on request. I will also add the ability for uses to have their password emailed to them if they remember the name of their loved one.
At some point, I will trasistion the back end of this site to a new location. The URL will still be https://w3-tech.com/auction2. That will not change. The only thing you should be able to notice is hopefully a quicker response time.
The Real Thing - May 1 until ?
After May 1, the site should be all together and reasonably stable. Starting May 1, I will begin really publicising the site, and I will get it linked from the search engines.
NOTE: Throughout all of the testing phases, the new categories feature will be active. If you want to see a new category, which right now you really should, click on the Suggest a Category link from the menu bar on the left.
